Excellent Introduction

If you are someone like myself, ie someone who has fallen in love with the work of the PRB's but knows very little about them, or indeed only has a small view of their work, then this book is an excellent way to begin to build your knowledge about them and their art. The first part outlines the artists and focuses on some of their sketches and backgrounds to their more famous works. The second part then shows the more famous pieces of art at a larger scale and is printed using a beautiful colour palette. Given the huge number of books about the Pre-Raphaelites I found it difficult to know where to begin but feel that this has been an excellent starting point. Having just browsed through its pages I know that it will give me hours of pleasure and, hopefully, will help guide me as I explore these wonderful artists and help take me into understanding them at deeper levels. Highly recommended!

This is as fine a collection as one could wish for : if you have a favourite it will be in here. The narrative is excellent without being too wordy.
